Sad tale of two interesting individuals

While I was reading through the various biographies, I came across the picture of Richard Mulligan. He was hilarious in the sitcom, Empty Nest & Soap. I didn't know he was dead. He died in 2000 of colon cancer. That was sad, he was a good comedian, the expressions he conveyed when he was shocked by an incident was memorable.

Anyway, while I was browsing. I came across the title 'Fantasy Island' I was excited to remember the short fellow calling to his boss that there was 'the playne.' I was curious who he was. His name was Hervé Villechaize. He was born in Paris, France. His height was 3'11'. He made a name in Hollywood, as the evil henchman in 'The Man with the Golden Gun' He actually came to the States as an artist. But I will always remember him as the short bloke who informed his boss. Turns out later on he demanded that he should be paid close to what the studios were paying Ricardo Montalban. The studio fired him and he couldn't find any good roles. The show ended due to ratings since the fans watched to show because of him. Sadly he too died, shot himself in 1993. Some theorized that he felt lonely and some say that his organs were growing inside of him and he was in pain because they were pushing against his body.

This was another sad story. I just felt like writing about some of these actors who made me smile when I was young.

Nothing else is new, preparing for the boards. Ciao

Thus far...

Well, I am finally out of the island. I will miss that place though. Beautiful climate, nice people, & calm atmosphere, such as 'Relax mon' ;)

Finished with the basic sciences aspect of Medical school. Now starts the preparation of USMLE Step I. It will be interesting & exciting for the coming exam. It sucks that I have been sick for the past week. Changing of weather does a number on your immune system. From nice hot Caribbean sunshine, to the really cool & wet weather of Washington.

Oh well, Washington is a pleasent terrain. It is green all over & the attitude of the majority of the populace reminds me of good ole Kansas :)

That's all I can think of typing write now since I am getting sleepy right now...

... just remembered something.

CRICKET!!!

Before I left the Caribbean, I was following the World Cup which was taking place right in the Caribbean. I personally was cheering for England & India. India played hopelessly. England at least saved face by making to at least 5th place, I think. The biggest disappointment was WEST INDIES!!! What happen??? Back in the 80s they were one the powerhouses of Cricket. They just limped through the whole championship :( I was sad when I found out that Lara would be retiring this season. Sad way of retiring.

One team that I hope & pray would push the peacock known as Australia from its peak of greatness is Bangladesh. This team is composed all of young players & they showed amazing play. The fielding & bowling were top notch. I hope in the next world cup, they will show more maturity of their talent.

Well that came out of nowhere... Sometimes, one would hope that they would finish but suddenly another thought enters. Well, I think this is the end of me blog. Like the Doors would say, 'This is the end, my friend the end...'

Yah right, like my thoughts ever end LOL

Cheers

A sense of peace

I am finally at peace. It is true, the Pendulum is still being weighed on the USMLE. But that anxiety has passed away, I left all to my savior, Lord Jesus Christ. I was reading the word last night, & His word in I Peter 3 released me from my self encased shell of uncertainties.

Nothing much else is happening in my life. Saw an interesting movie, couple of nights ago. 'Take the Lead'. At first, I thought this would be borrowing & irritating like the TV shows lately with the celebraties dancing for the public to vote on how they are doing. I was quite surprised how the main character wanted to give these students a chance to aspire to something great. Music was really nice. A feel good movie, I would say. ;)

Its been a while I blah'ed this much. Probably because I chatted with a certain someone, who brighted up my day :D. Feels good to be alive, I'd say.

Just another day in this conundrum called my world

Another day has gone by. Finally finished with that phase I of Medical school called Basic Sciences, blech!! Now the real fun begins...

Preparing for the Boards now. Taking Kaplan for that. Its an OK prep course, the only downside is having to sit through 7 hours a day of video. And that goes for 5 days a week. Some of the lecturers are good while others... Ever watched a movie in fast forward, that's what it felt like.

I don't care, I am finally getting out of this island! Made some good aquaintances, but in the end they are just that AQUAINTANCES!!!

One thing I learned since being in Med School overseas, I will never fall for anyone nor make any really good. That reminds me of a song that has been running through my head for two days. 'Dust in the wind' by Kansas

Well, anyway after writing this blog. I went to a church meeting. It was an amazing change of thoughts, I realized why should I piss & moan about the puzzles & disappointments of life? The Lord gave me his life & piece.

Now I am done, Cheers :D
